Gary L. Hart, 60, has held a variety of senior positions in the energy industry across Canada for more than 30 years, most recently as president and chief operating officer for AltaLink.
Hart started his career with TransAlta and moved through several roles of increasing responsibility. As director of business development for Western Canada, Gary developed two Alberta cogeneration projects before moving to Ontario, where he was vice president of operations, Eastern Canada for TransAlta Limited Partnership.
Following his tenure at TransAlta, Hart joined Westcoast Power as vice president, operations, with accountabilities for their generating portfolio. He then joined Suncor Energy in utility operations and supply chain, most recent as their senior vice president of supply chain and field logistics, before joining BHE Canada.
Hart has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
