The Evolution of Coal

Berkshire Hathaway Energy’s businesses are striving to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in a manner our customers can afford, our regulators will allow and technology advances support. As coal units are retired, additional noncarbon generation is deployed and transmission is expanded, Berkshire Hathaway Energy plans to cease coal generation by 2049.
