Moving Forward

Committed to long-term ownership and acquisition of transmission assets, BHE U.S. Transmission builds upon the significant operational and ownership experience gained by Berkshire Hathaway Energy through its businesses’ ownership of existing electric transmission systems. Because of this experience, they are able to provide cost-effective, reliable transmission solutions for wholesale customers.

BHE U.S. Transmission, along with subsidiaries of American Electric Power Company, indirectly owns a 50% interest in Electric Transmission Texas, which owns and operates 2,100 miles of electric transmission lines in Texas. BHE U.S. Transmission also indirectly owns a 25% interest in the 108-mile, 345-kV Prairie Wind Transmission project in Kansas, and a 20% interest in Grid Assurance, LLC, a grid recovery solution to help improve the resilience of the electric grid.

Transmission

Through their TransCanyon joint venture, BHE U.S. Transmission and Pinnacle West are developing the 214-mile, 500-kV Cross-Tie Transmission Line, which will connect Utah and Nevada.

BHE U.S. Transmission, along with BHE Canada, owns and operates the 214-mile, 230-kV Montana Alberta Tie Line, which runs from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, to Great Falls, Montana.
