A Bright Idea

Impressive economic and environmental benefits make solar generation a core component of our renewables portfolio.

BHE Renewables’ Topaz and Solar Star facilities – located in California – collectively produce 1,136 megawatts of solar-powered generation capacity.

NV Energy has 185 megawatts of owned solar resources in operation, with an additional 400 megawatts of owned solar resources planned for commercial operation in 2027. In addition, NV Energy served customers with nearly 3,000 megawatts of contracted solar resources in 2024.

MidAmerican Energy has 151 megawatts of owned solar resources in operation, with an additional 800 megawatts of owned solar resources planned for commercial operation by the end of 2028.

Through year-end 2024, Berkshire Hathaway Energy had invested approximately $7.7 billion in solar projects, two of which are among the largest projects in the U.S.

Minimizing Our Footprint

Electricity generated from the Solar Star projects displaces approximately 561,000 tons of CO2 per year – which is equivalent to greenhouse gas emissions from nearly 119,000 gasoline-powered cars driven for one year.
